Mulled Sangria: A Holiday Treat

This delicious drink tastes like the holidays feel: warm and cheerful. Whether you’re entertaining guests or enjoying a cozy night in, a glass of mulled sangria will make everything more festive.

 

Mulled Sangria
Serves 6-8

  • 2 bottles of Tempranillo or Grenache red wine
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 20 whole peppercorns
  • 4 whole green cardamom pods
  • 1 cup brandy
  • 1 cup dry sherry
  • 1 cup apple cider, unfiltered
  • 1 cup cranberry juice
  • 1 orange, juiced
  • 1½ cups simple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 2 cups water

 

1. Add ingredients to a pot over medium low or in a crock pot. Let simmer without bubbles for an hour.

 

2. Strain the mixture.

 

3. Serve warm with orange zest.
